Police say the suspect threw a pillow case containing more than 120 wax folds of heroin out the window while the home was being searched.

HAMDEN, CT — Police arrested a 65-year-old Hamden man on charges that he was selling heroin out of a Shepard Street residence. On Dec. 7, members of the Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team, Patrol Division and Emergency Services Unit executed a search and seizure warrant at 129 Shepard Street, according to Capt. During the search of the residence, officers saw Samuel Mcelveen throw a pillow case out of the window. The pillow case contained 123 wax folds of heroin, weighing 30.5 grams, according to Smith. Mcelveen was promptly arrested and transported to police headquarters.
Mcelveen, of 129 Shepard Street, was arrested on charges of sale of narcotics and possession of narcotics with the intent to sell. Mcelveen, who was detained on a $100,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Dec. 21.
