Dine-And-Dash Suspect Had Loaded Gun: Hamden Police
The suspect is a convicted felon, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT ā A convicted felon is accused of being in the possession of a loaded gun during a ādine-and-dashā incident at a diner in Hamden over the weekend, according to police. At about 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 24, Hamden Police responded to Three Brothers Diner, located at 1038 Dixwell Avenue, on the report of a larceny, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said investigation revealed that a patron, Edward Brown Jr., exited the restaurant without paying for his meal. An employee subsequently followed Brown Jr. northbound on Dixwell Avenue. Further investigation revealed that Brown Jr. removed a loaded firearm āfrom his shortsā and placed it in the area of 1080 Dixwell Avenue, Smith said. Officers arrested Brown, who was found to be in the possession of three bullets. The firearm was located and seized as evidence, according to Smith. Police also learned that Brown is a convicted felon.

Brown, 51, of Todd Street in Shelton, was arrested on charges of criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a revolver without a permit and sixth-degree larceny. Brown, who was detained on a $75,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Oct. 10.
