Driver, 13, Jumps Wall, Gets Stuck in Hamden Crash

There were six juveniles in the car at the time of the crash. No serious injuries were reported.

HAMDEN, CT — A car full of six juveniles, including the 13-year-old driver, jumped a wall and got stuck in the Hamden Plaza on Dixwell Avenue in a Tuesday morning crash.

Hamden Police responded to the scene, at 2100 Dixwell Avenue, at about 6:30 a.m., according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 2013 Toyota Corolla that had crashed into a concrete wall.

Smith said the vehicle was operated by a 13-year-old New Haven resident. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s permission.

The vehicle was occupied by five additional juveniles and minor injuries were reported.

Hamden Police arrested two of the juveniles for interfering with a police officer.

All of the juveniles were released to their parents.
