Hamden police are investigating the armed robbery and assault of a Domino’s pizza deliveryman early Tuesday morning near a driveway at Quinnipiac University.

Police responded to the York Hill Campus at Quinnipiac, at 305 Sherman Avenue, at about 1 a.m. Dec. 9 on the report of an armed robbery, Hamden Police Capt. Ronald Smith said in a press release.

Smith said that a 25-year-old deliveryman had delivered a pizza to an individual at the York Hill Campus and as he was exiting the driveway, he observed a female screaming for help.

The Domino’s employee subsequently stopped to assist the female. An individual, described as a black male, who was dressed in black, approached him and pointed a gun at his head. He then demanded his personal belongings.

The aforementioned described individual then dragged the deliveryman out of his vehicle and forced him to his knees, according to Smith.
