• Meeting Set On Planned Changes To Route 15 In Hamden (patch.com) — Hamden residents are invited to a September public meeting at the Hamden Government Center to learn about major safety and mobility upgrades planned for Route 15 Exit 51 and Whitney Avenue. State transportation officials will explain proposed ramp changes, new sidewalks, and pedestrian crossings, outline right-of-way impacts, and take questions on the $28 million project expected to start construction in 2028.

• More than 100 years later, a Connecticut manufacturer shuts its doors amid tariff pressure (wheninyourstate.com) — A century-old Hamden manufacturer, Leed-Himmel Industries, is shutting down, cutting local jobs and erasing about $160,000 in annual property tax revenue for the town. Rising costs for electricity, insurance, and aluminum tariffs pushed the company over the edge, and the owner is still hoping a buyer will keep the Hamden facility in manufacturing rather than turning it into storage or something else.
