Flat Tire Leads To Arrest Of Hamden Couple On 8 Outstanding Warrants: North Haven Police

Police located a vehicle with a flat tire on the side of the road and later learned the occupants were wanted on 8 total arrest warrants.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A flat tire led to the arrest of a Hamden couple on a total of eight outstanding warrants Tuesday morning in North Haven, according to police. At about 8: 20 a.m. on April 25, a North Haven Police officer located a vehicle with a flat tire on the side of the road at the intersection of State Street and Devine Street.

The operator told the officer that another vehicle cut them off and the damage resulted from striking the curb. While investigating, the officer identified the operator as Jenna Rodriguez, 23, of Hamden and the passenger was her husband, 31-year-old Alex Javier Rodriguez. Police said that Alex Rodriguez had provided officers with various false names and at one point failed to comply with several commands and resisted an officer.

Police later learned that Alex Javier Rodriguez had a total of six active court-issued warrants for failure to appear in court and was additionally charged with interfering with an officer. Jenna Rodriguez was also wanted on two outstanding warrants for violation of probation, according to police.

Police said the couple was transported to police headquarters and held on bond pending their court appearance in Meriden Superior Court.
