Garrett Seeking 2nd Term As Hamden Mayor: Report
Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett has kicked off her re-election campaign, according to a report.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett will be seeking a second term in office in the municipal election in November, according to the New Haven Register.
The Register reports Garrett filed paperwork to establish a campaign committee on Friday, after kicking off her re-election bid during an event at Cascade Fine Catering on Thursday night.
Garrett defeated Republican Ron Gambardella in the 2021 election, after beating three-term incumbent Mayor Curt Balzano Leng in the Democratic primary election.

This year’s mayoral election figures to be Hamden’s last with a two-year term associated with it. Voters approved the town's charter revision ballot question in this past November’s state and federal election.
Among the changes in the new town charter are four-year mayoral terms that start in 2025.
