Giacomo Gates Headlines "Sensational Sunday Performances."

The jazz vocalist known for "scatting" or "vocalizing as an instrument will perform in Hamden on March 4.

Hamden’s Arts, Recreation & Culture Department continues its 2011-2012 season of "Sensational Sunday Performances."

The March 4 performance will feature Giacomo Gates, the renowned American Jazz vocalist known for "scatting" or "vocalizing as an instrument." His current CD, "The Songs of Gil Scott-Heron: The Revolution Will be Jazz," was recently number one on the National Jazz Weekly Radio Charts for more than three weeks.

The event will be held in the handicapped-accessible Thornton Wilder Hall at the Miller Cultural Complex, 2901 Dixwell Ave. Admission is $7 general admission/ $5 for senior citizens, students and children 12 and under. Tickets are sold at the door only.
