Gov. Ned Lamont to Discuss Leadership With Quinnipiac President

Gov. Ned Lamont will discuss leadership during times of crisis with Quinnipiac University President Judy Olian on June 19.

HAMDEN, CT – Quinnipiac University is launching a new presidential speaker series to connect members of the university community with leaders, visionaries and established professionals from across the country. “The Way Forward” will offer a virtual forum to showcase and share innovative ideas and critical thinking about some of the most current and pressing challenges facing society. Each program is free and open to the public.



“We’ll engage in thoughtful dialogue with some of the brightest minds on today’s social, economic and health challenges, and trailblazing ideas ahead,” said President Judy Olian, who will kick off the series on Friday, June 19 at 1:15 p.m. with Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont. They will discuss leadership during times of crisis. The 45-minute session will be hosted on Zoom and include an opportunity to ask questions. To register, visit bit.ly/2MZUAE0.

On Monday, June 22, at 2 p.m. Stewart Bainum, chairman of Choice Hotels, will discuss "Travel and Hotels Post Pandemic.” To register, visit bit.ly/3hzBFyf.

Dr. David Feinberg, vice president of Google Health, and William Weldon, former chairman and CEO of Johnson & Johnson and chairman of the Quinnipiac Board of Trustees, will discuss “Innovations in Heathcare Technology” with President Olian and Dr. Bruce Koeppen, dean of the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac. A date and time for this discussion will be announced.

Arunan Arulampalam, deputy commissioner of the state Department of Consumer Protection, Erik Clemons, president and CEO of ConnCAT, and William Ginsburg, president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Greater New Haven, will discuss “The Impact of the Pandemic on the Economically Vulnerable.” Khalilah Brown-Dean, associate professor of political science, will moderate. A date and time for this talk will be announced.
