• Hamden Girls Volleyball, Soccer Teams Gear Up For Season With Fundraising Car Washes: PHOTOS (patch.com) — Hamden families just wrapped up summer break by supporting Hamden High School girls volleyball and soccer teams at fundraising car washes held Sunday in town. The events help the teams prepare for their upcoming Sept. 8 season openers against Guilford, including a home volleyball match at Hamden High. Local fans now have clear dates to cheer on these student-athletes.
   

• Hamden's Haven Beer Company Names New General Manager (patch.com) — Hamden's Haven Beer Company has tapped veteran hospitality leader Chris Leonard as the new general manager of its Whitney Avenue brewery, scratch kitchen, taproom, rooftop and biergarten. Leonard, known for roles at 110 Grill in Manchester and City Steam Brewery in Hartford, will now oversee daily operations and events in Hamden, bringing extensive experience in high-volume venues to the local beer scene.
