Hamden Cancels Memorial Day Parade
The threat of inclement weather, including lightning, has canceled the parade but Hamden will still honor veterans at a special ceremony.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden’s Memorial Day Parade has been canceled due to inclement weather in the forecast, including the threat of lightning, officials announced on Sunday evening. The decision to cancel was based on the recommendation of Hamden’s Veteran's Commission leaders, Parade Organizers and Public Safety Officials, according to officials.
Although the parade has been canceled, Hamden will still honor veterans at a special ceremony to be held at 11 a.m. on Memorial Day (Monday, May 29) at the Hamden Middle School in the Veteran's Memorial Auditorium. (To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
