HAMDEN, CT — The 2019 municipal election is heating up in Hamden and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.
Hamden Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.
Valerie Horsley is running for a seat on the Legislative Council in the 4th District as a Democrat. She has worked as a professor/scientist for 10 years and has a Ph.D. in Cell Biology. She has two children, ages 13 and 8.

As a mother that is still raising my kids, I understand the challenges that working families are faced today: increasing costs of college education, frozen wages, high cost of child-care, and more.
