Hamden High School Evacuated (Updated)

Students were temporarily evacuated from the school following a bomb threat.

Update, 12 noon:

Hamden High School students were evacuated after the police department received a bomb threat intended for the the school around 8:30 a.m.

The students were moved to the Hamden Ice Rink parking lot, located on Mix Avenue, and boarded school buses while police searched the building.

Hamden Police, with the assistance of the New Haven Police Department Bomb Squad, conducted a detailed search of the school and no explosives were located, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said students were allowed to re-enter the school approximately two hours thereafter.

The Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Division is conducting the investigation of the bomb threat.

Hamden High School students were evacuated Friday morning following a bomb threat at the school.

Police are on the scene and are searching the building and grounds, according to school officials.

Officials ask that parents don’t pick up students at this time. Students have been moved to another warm location.
