Hamden High School Evacuated After Bomb Threat Wednesday Morning (Updated 3 p.m.)
No explosives were found; school received a call that a bomb inside the building was "going to go off."

Hamden High School was evacuated after a bomb threat was called in at about 11:40 a.m. Wednesday morning, the superintendent’s office posted on the district’s website.
School officials said that Hamden police were onsite immediately and are currently searching the building and grounds (as of 12:15 p.m.). Parents have been notified, and updates will be sent and posted as available.

The Hamden Police Department issued a press release on the situation, read below:
This morning at approximately 11:41 a.m. Hamden Police responded to Hamden High School, 2040 Dixwell Avenue on the report of a bomb threat.

Moments earlier, the school’s administration received a telephone call from a male who stated that there was a bomb inside of the building that was “going to go off.”
The students were subsequently evacuated from the school in a safe, efficient and orderly manner. The students first proceeded to the bleachers, which are adjacent to the football field. They then gathered at the Hamden Ice Rink.
The Hamden Police Department, with the assistance of 4 Connecticut State Police K9 teams, conducted a systematic search of the school and surrounding area. No explosives were found on the premises. The students were allowed to re-enter the school at approximately 1:45 p.m.
The Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Division is conducting the investigation.
