Hamden Police Seize Heroin, Crack Cocaine During Drug Bust

The department's Street Interdiction Team concluded a drug investigation with the arrest of a 27-year-old man, according to police.

Hamden, CT — Hamden Police seized 30 bags of heroin along with two bags of crack cocaine and a small amount of marijuana during a drug bust Monday evening, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said the department’s Street Interdiction Team concluded a drug investigation with the arrest of Lavern Marion at about 5 p.m. on June 13.

Marion, 27, was arrested in the area of Merritt Street and Webb Street.

Smith said officers seized 30 bags of heroin, two bags of crack cocaine and a small quantity of marijuana during the arrest.

Marion, of 736 Washington Avenue in New Haven, was arrested on two counts of possession of narcotics, two counts of possession of narcotics with the intent to sell and possession of marijuana.

Marion, who was detained on a $25,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on June 24.
