Hamden Primary Election 2017: Winners Declared
Two political newcomers challenged the Democratic Party's endorsed candidates for the Legislative Council.

HAMDEN, CT — Two political newcomers defeated the Democratic Town Committee’s endorsed candidates for two seats on the Legislative Council in Tuesday’s primary election in Hamden, according to the New Haven Register.
The Register reports Southern Connecticut State University student Justin Farmer defeated Alyson Heimer in the 5th District and Athena Gary beat incumbent Oswald Brown in the 3rd District race. (To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
Both Farmer and Gary will be on the ballots in the upcoming municipal election in November.
