Hamden Resident Receives Phillipi Award
Quinnipiac University administrator and Hamden resident receives Phillipi Award at Greek Leadership Conference
HAMDEN – Avery Moses of Hamden, assistant director of campus life for fraternity and sorority life at Quinnipiac University, received the Phillipi Award at the Northeast Greek Leadership Association’s (NGLA) annual conference, which was held recently in Baltimore.
The Phillipi Award recognizes a fraternity/sorority campus professional who has made significant contributions to a fraternity/sorority within the Northeast region by advising any governing council.
Honorees are selected for modeling exceptional ethical leadership and values encouraging positive change that ensures the long-term success of the fraternity/sorority community, acting inclusively and collaboratively and challenging students to think critically.
“I was so surprised to have been selected for the Phillipi Award,” Moses said. “I have been a volunteer with NGLA since 2016 and was so honored to win while surrounded by some of my greatest supporters in the field. Additionally, I am so thankful to work with such wonderful students and staff at QU who took time to nominate me for this award. I truly love what I do.”
Moses, who joined Quinnipiac in 2019, received her bachelor’s degree in communication and Spanish from the University of Connecticut, and her master’s of arts in education and human development from George Washington University.
NGLA is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization that works to develop and educate students and professionals in the Northeast. The association focuses on personal, professional and leadership development through educational experiences and programming that helps the fraternal community align actions with values.
