Hamden Teen, 14, Killed In Shooting Near Waterbury: Reports

The teen was taken to a hospital in Waterbury after being shot in the head, according to reports.

HAMDEN, CT — A 14-year-old Hamden resident has died after a shooting near Waterbury early Monday morning, according to multiple reports.

Family members told WFSB 3 that the boy, who had been shot in the head, died Tuesday afternoon. He had been dropped off at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury around 4 a.m. on Monday.

The teen was a student at High School in the Community in New Haven, according to the New Haven Register.

The Register reports Waterbury police believe the shooting happened outside the city, and it remains under investigation.
