Hamden Woman Man Charged In Fatal Hit-And-Run: Middletown Police
The woman turned herself in on a warrant for her involvement in the hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Middletown, police said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Hamden woman was arrested on a warrant this week in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian in Middletown in March, according to police. Taquanis Sessoms, 29, turned herself in to police Monday for her involvement in the hit-and-run crash that killed Brooke Rich, according to Lt. Heather Desmond.
Rich, 41, of Middletown, was crossing the street when she was struck and killed by a vehicle that fled the scene on March 4. Desmond said Sessoms wasn’t in the vehicle at the time of the crash, but is the registered owner of the vehicle that hit Rich.
“During the investigation Sessoms interfered with the investigating officers,” Desmond wrote in a news release. “It is alleged that Sessoms completely fabricated a story about who she was in the company of and who was operating her vehicle the night of the crash on March 4. Sessoms told officers that she let someone else drive her vehicle and that it was not her fiancé, Jerod Wilson, that was driving the vehicle when it struck Rich. The night of the crash, when officers knocked on her door, she did not answer the door and did not question why officers were towing her vehicle in the middle of the night. Sessoms came to the police station the following morning inquiring why the police towed her vehicle.”
