Hamden Woman Shoplifted, Gave Police False Name, Damaged Goods, and Urinated In Holding Cell: Milford Police
Police say the incident began at Whole Foods and then moved to the department's holding cell.

MILFORD, CT — A shoplifting incident at Whole Foods in Milford escalated when police say a Hamden woman, Dorothy Hart, 73, of Putnam Avenue, gave police a false name, refused to sign her arrest paperwork and allegedly urinated on the floor of a holding cell.
On Sept. 11, police responded to Whole Foods on a report of a shoplifter, police said. Investigation led to the arrest of Hart, who is accused of taking approximately $110 worth of items without paying for it, police said. While being detained Hart provided a false name of Dori Burligh and also damaged multiple items she had taken, police said.
Further investigation showed Hart to have an active warrant for her arrest, police said. Hart is also accused of failing to appear in court stemming from a larceny arrest in Hamden on July 25, police said. She later refused to sign her arrest paperwork and also urinated on the floor of a holding cell, police said.
