Hamden's Blessing Offor Opens for Family Stone in Summer Concert Series Finale

The show is set for July 31 to close out the town's Free Summer Concert Series.

Hamden’s own Blessing Offor will open for Family Stone Friday night (July 31) to close out the town’s Free Summer Concert Series.

With three original Sly & the Family Stone members -- Jerry Martini, Rose Stone and Cynthia Robinson -- the group will perform an explosive set of classics from the 1960s and 1970s: I Want to Take You Higher, Everyday People, Dance to the Music, Hot Fun in the Summertime, Family Affair and Thank You For Lettin’ Me Be Myself Again.

Offor, who graduated from Hamden High in 2007, is a singer/songwriter/musician who has appeared on a few television shows, including The Voice, where he advanced several rounds.

Offor opens the show at 7:15 p.m. and Family Stone takes the stage at 8:15 p.m.
