Hamden's Blessing Offor Staves Off Elimination, Advances on NBC's 'The Voice' (Video)

Offor was saved by Adam Levine and moves on to the knockout round.

Hamden’s Blessing Offor advanced to the knockout round on NBC’s “The Voice” when he was saved from elimination by Adam Levine on Monday night’s show.

Offor, a 2007 graduate of Hamden High School, was pitted against 15-year-old Katriz Trinidad to sing Stevie Wonder’s “Do I Do” setting up a difficult decision for coach Pharrell Williams, who ultimately chose Trinidad.

But Levine almost immediately buzzed in to steal Offor for his team. Gwen Stefani also buzzed in to get Offor to join her team, but he decided to go with Levine.

Offor was born with complete vision loss in one eye and very limited vision in his right eye but ended up completely losing his vision at the age of 11. According to his bio on The Voice, after losing his vision Offor turned to music and is now a full-time singer-songwriter and wants to prove that one can achieve one’s dreams despite adversity.
