Man Charged In Shooting During Robbery At Gas Station: Hamden Police
The victim, who was inside his car in a gas station parking lot, was shot while two men were trying to rob him, according to police.
HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven man has been arrested in connection with a shooting during an attempted robbery in a gas station parking lot last month, according to police.
Police responded to the parking lot of the Gulf Express gas station at 144 Arch Street around 4 p.m. on July 22 on reports of a shooting.
Responding officers found a 28-year-old Hamden man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg, according to Detective Sean J. Dolan.

Dolan said the victim was inside his car in the parking lot and was approached by two suspects who attempted to rob him. One of the suspects shot the victim during the robbery, according to Dolan.
Both suspects left the scene before police arrived.

Detective Gabe Garcia, along with detectives from the Hamden Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit and New Haven Shooting Task Force, conducted an extensive investigation into the shooting, Dolan said.
Samuel Tate, 22, was arrested Thursday on a warrant in connection with the shooting.
Tate was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, criminal possession of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment. He was held in lieu of a $500,000 bond with a court date of Sept. 8.
