Man Sentenced In Sexual Assault In Hamden: Officials

The man was recently convicted on sexual assault charges, according to officials.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man has been sentenced to serve 10 years in prison in connection with a sexual assault in Hamden in 2021, according to officials.

Daren Sarcione, 55, was sentenced Monday to 15 years in prison, suspended after 10 years served, followed by 10 years of probation, New Haven State’s Attorney John P. Doyle Jr., announced.

Sarcione was convicted June 6 by a jury in New Haven Superior Court of first-degree sexual assault, third-degree sexual assault, and first-degree unlawful restraint.

Sarcione was accused of holding the complainant down on a bed and sexually assaulting her in Hamden on July 18, 2021, according to Doyle.
