City of Meriden's Fireworks Will Go On Thanks To Generous Donation From Frontier
The City of Meriden announces that the cancelled fireworks are back on.
Frontier Communications joined the City of Meriden on Tuesday to announce that the Independence Day fireworks will be held thanks to a generous donation from Frontier. The annual fireworks show had recently been canceled due to budget cuts within the city.
“With more than 200 of our employees living and working in Meriden, and thousands more that attend the fireworks each year, we are delighted to be able to partner with the city to make sure spectators from all over central Connecticut get to experience this Independence Day tradition,” said Joe Ferraiolo, Frontier’s Area General Manager for New Haven.
This year’s show will be held on Friday, July 1 at 9:15 p.m. at Hubbard Park in Meriden. Prior to the show there will be a special performance from Braiden Sunshine, a Connecticut resident who was a Semi-Finalist on Season 9 of “The Voice.”

“Frontier is an excellent example of a company doing its part to have a positive impact on the communities it serves and we are very thankful for their thoughtful support of the fireworks – one of the most popular events in our city each summer,” said Meriden Mayor Kevin Scarpati.
