New Haven Man Busted with Multiple Grams of Heroin: Hamden Police
The arrested occurred early Friday morning on State Street.

Hamden, CT - A 23-year-old New Haven man was arrested with 5.1 grams of heroin early Friday on State Street in Hamden, according to police.
Arrested was Ismael Vasquez, of 175 James St., who was charged with Possession of Narcotics and various motor vehicle infractions.
Police said the incident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. when Sgt. Micheal Sigmon was "conducting surveillance in the area of the Country Food Market at 2215 State Street, due to the recent 'smash and grab' burglaries in the past few weeks."

The sergeant saw a vehicle with tinted windows pull into the parking lot and drive around to the rear of the building. Sigmon conducted a motor vehicle stop and "further investigation led to the search of the vehicle, where officers located approximately 5.1 grams of Heroin."
Vasquez was held in lieu of a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on July 8.
