After arriving on the scene, officers learned that the 45 year-old victim was lying in bed when her ex-boyfriend (Butler) approached her open bedroom window. Police said she quickly closed the window and ran to the front door.
Butler subsequently forced the door open by breaking the glass, according to police, and Butler then grabbed her cell phone from her hand. The victim, who injured her knee during the incident, was able to exit her apartment and subsequently used a neighbor’s phone to call police.
