Notre Dame Names its First Vice-President for Academic Affairs
Notre Dame is Pleased to Appoint Mrs. Katie Saxon of Hamden as Vice-President for Academic Affairs

West Haven, CT -- Notre Dame of West Haven President Robert F. Curis is pleased to announce that Mrs. Katie Saxon has accepted the newly-created position of Vice-President for Academic Affairs as part of the Administrative Structure for the 2017-18 academic year.
“As part of our Educating Minds and Hearts 2020 Strategic Plan, we were charged with implementing a leadership structure that best supports the vision of the school and ensures effective school management,” said Curis. “We have found that perfect blend of educational vision, classroom experience, and respect among peers in Mrs. Katie Saxon for this integral position.”
Saxon was hired following a national search, led by Deacon Dominic Corraro ‘80 and a search committee comprising administration, faculty, and board members that were put in charge to find the best candidate.
Curis happily stated in a correspondence to families announcing the hiring, “After an extensive search, screening, and interview process over the last eight weeks, the Board of Directors endorsed the search committee’s unanimous recommendation that Mrs. Katie Saxon, our current Science Department Chairperson, be appointed the school’s first Vice-President for Academic Affairs.”

She also helped bring our Robotics team to great heights, including qualifying for the World Tournament in her second year.
Saxon will join the Administrative Team effective July 1, 2017, and will help foster continued academic advances starting with the 2017-18 school year.
