The move is meant to cut lease and maintenance costs amid a multibillion-dollar repair backlog and reduced federal funding, and some employees will be reassigned within their commuting area as operations shift.

• New Haven man beat, robbed victim after seeking synthetic marijuana, warrant says (nhregister.com) — A New Haven man is accused of robbing and assaulting someone after seeking synthetic marijuana, with the victim later confirming his identity during an interview at a Hamden residence. The case stems from an August incident on Thompson Street and involves allegations of a firearm being used to strike the victim before $1,200 was taken. The suspect is due in New Haven Superior Court on September 18.
