Police Arrest New Haven Man in Connection With Hamden Internet Dating Home Invasion

The man is one of four suspects who allegedly entered a man's home while he was with a woman he met online.

Hamden Police made a second arrest in the case of a home invasion that took place after a man invited a woman he met on the internet to his Mix Avenue apartment.

After an extensive investigation, police obtained an arrest warrant for Julian Foster.

The 30-year-old victim of the home invasion told police he had planned on meeting Nazhia Carter, the woman he met on the internet, at his home on Oct. 8.

Investigation revealed that while the victim was in his bedroom with Nazhia Carter and her female friend, two males entered the room. A physical altercation ensued, which resulted in the victim being assaulted with a tire iron. The two males and the two females that he invited into his residence subsequently fled. Several items were stolen from the apartment, including electronic equipment. The victim, who sustained injuries to his back, finger and nose was treated at the scene by Hamden Fire Rescue.

Julian Foster was identified as one of the males. Upon fleeing, Foster jumped off of the balcony, falling approximately 25 to 30 feet.

Police arrested Foster, who was appearing at Meriden Superior Court on Dec. 18. Foster, 24, was charged with home invasion, conspiracy to commit home invasion, robbery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit robbery in the first degree, assault in the second degree, conspiracy to commit assault in the second degree, threatening in the first degree and conspiracy to commit threatening in the first degree. He is being held on a $350,000 court-ordered bond.

Nazhia Carter was previously arrested for her involvement in this incident on Nov. 13.
