Police Recover Stolen Hamden Vehicle in West Haven

West Haven Police made four arrests in connection to the theft.

West Haven Police have arrested four people, two 19-year-olds and two juveniles, for the theft of a Hamden vehicle.

West Haven Police Officers were conducting surveillance Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of the Shop Rite on Campbell Avenue and observed a group of four males drop off a vehicle and leave in a second vehicle.

Police said that the vehicle dropped off was stolen from Hamden.

The group began leaving in a second stolen vehicle and West Haven Police Officers were able to recover the stolen vehicle from Hamden in the parking lot of Shop Rite, and the second vehicle fled into New Haven where the occupants had fled on foot.

Officers captured Wilbert Johnson, 19, of 350 Front Avenue in West Haven, and Kerry Blash, 19, of 281 West Ivy Street in New Haven.

The two other occupants were juveniles and therefore information cannot be released. Johnson was arrested for larceny, conspiracy, and motor vehicle charges. Blash was charged with larceny, conspiracy, possession of narcotics. Both were held on bond.
