Sex Offender Arrested In Hamden: Police

Police say the man had not been in compliance with the sex offender registry unit.

HAMDEN, CT — A sex offender has been charged with failing to verify his address, according to Hamden Police. On Jan. 12, the Hamden Police Department was notified by the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection Sex Offender Registry Unit that registered sex offender Timothy C. Johnson had not been in compliance with the sex offender unit, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

Smith said Johnson failed to verify his address and an investigation led to the application of an arrest warrant for Johnson, which was approved by the court. (To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Johnson, 61, of Goodrich Street in Hamden, was arrested Sept. 8 and charged with failure of sex offender to verify address.

Johnson, who was detained on a $1,000 court-ordered bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Sept. 15.
