Suspect Arrested in Hamden 'Smash and Grab' Burglaries: Police
All four thefts occurred in June of this year.

HAMDEN, CT — A 54-year-old New Haven man was arrested in connection with four separate "smash and grab" burglaries that occurred in Hamden in June of this year, according to police.
David Rigsbee is accused of the following burglaries:
- June 9th burglary at Walgreen’s, 2505 Whitney Ave.
- June 19th burglary at the Whitneyville Food Center, 1248 Whitney Ave.
- June 25th burglary at Henny Penny, 3048 Dixwell Ave.
- June 29th burglary at the Quick Mart Mobil, 1671 Whitney Ave.
"During each of the aforementioned burglaries, Rigsbee used a cinder block or rock to shatter the front window of each establishment," police wrote in a statement. "Once inside, Rigsbee stole money, cigarettes and toiletries."

Rigsbee was charged with four counts of Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Larceny in the 3rd Degree, Larceny in the 4th Degree, Larceny in the 5th Degree and Larceny in the 6th Degree. He was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on November 18.
Hamden Police Detectives Donald Remillard, Brian Stewart and Joseph Liguori conducted the investigations.
