Police are asking for help identifying a woman accused of assaulting a 16-year-old girl on a Connecticut Transit bus in Hamden.

HAMDEN, CT — Police are asking for help identifying a woman accused of assaulting a teen on a Connecticut Transit bus in Hamden. The woman is accused of throwing a cup of soda at a 16-year-old girl, punching the girl several times and biting her on the arm, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
The assault occurred on Sept. 22 after the 16-year-old Hamden resident got on the bus in the area of Dixwell Avenue and Putnam Avenue. The teen told police that a passenger on the bus began provoking her. The teen said the woman, described as a black female, 40 years old, 5-feet, 9-inches tall with a heavy build and was wearing a jean jacket, made demeaning statements toward her.
The woman is then accused of attacking the teen, first throwing a cup of soda at her, and she then “struck her an unknown amount of times with closed fist punches,” according to Smith. To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.
