Vehicle Windows Smashed, Items Stolen In Broad Daylight: Hamden Police

Police said the suspects appeared to target vehicles that were in the parking lot while the owners were working out at local gyms.

HAMDEN, CT — Police are investigating a series of thefts from motor vehicles in which the windows were smashed Monday morning at the Hamden Plaza.

Police responded to multiple reports of items stolen from vehicles at the Hamden Plaza, 2100 Dixwell Ave., between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., according to Detective Sean J. Dolan.

Dolan said the windows were smashed on the vehicles and items, including purses, were taken from some vehicles.

“The suspects appeared to target vehicles, while the owners were working out at local gyms in the shopping areas,” Dolan wrote in a news release.
