Victim Identified In Fatal Shooting In Hamden
A woman was killed and a man was seriously injured in a shooting Wednesday in Hamden.
HAMDEN, CT — Police identified the victim of Wednesday’s fatal shooting as Darlene Brown, 43, of Hamden.
Brown was killed in a double-shooting Wednesday morning in Hamden. The man who was shot in the torso has been identified as Derrick Miller, 57, of Hamden, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Miller was listed in serious condition at Yale-New Haven Hospital as of Thursday afternoon. Brown and Miller were recently married, Smith said.

Police responded to the area of Pine Rock Avenue and Arch Street around 8 a.m. Wednesday on the report of a shooting. Brown was found sitting in the driver's seat of a motor vehicle and had been shot. She was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, Smith said in a previous report.
Miller was found lying on the ground near the passenger side of the vehicle and had been shot in the torso, according to Smith.

Investigators believe the incident was domestic-violence related, Smith said.
The shooting remains under investigation.
