Woman, 66, Injured During Daytime Street Robbery in Hamden: Police

Hamden Police are investigating after a woman was robbed of her purse and sustained injuries to her shoulder and arm.

Hamden, CT — Hamden Police are investigating a daytime street robbery that occurred on Saturday afternoon in which a 66-year-old woman’s purse was stolen and she sustained injuries to her shoulder and arm.

Police responded to Mix Avenue at about 2:15 p.m. on July 2 and investigation revealed that the 66-year-old victim was walking on Mix Avenue while carrying a purse, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.

The woman told responding officers that a man knocked her to the ground and stole her pursue, which contained several hundred dollars, credit cards and jewelry, according to Smith.

The victim sustained injuries to her shoulder and arm.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his late 30s, about 6-feet tall with a medium to heavy build and clean shaven.

The suspect was seen entering a black-colored Jeep.
