Woman Killed While Trying To Cross Street By Car: Hamden PD
BREAKING: Police are investigating. This is the fourth person killed in accidents this weekend.

HAMDEN, CT — It's been a tragic few days in Hamden as four people are dead in two separate accidents. At 6:48 p.m. on July 20 Hamden Police responded to the report of a “pedestrian struck” on Dixwell Avenue, in the vicinity of Old Dixwell Avenue, Police Capt. Ronald Smith said.
Investigation revealed that Kristin Wilczynski, 50, of North Haven was attempting to cross the street, when she was struck by a motor vehicle that was driven by Courtney Bothwell, 28, of North Haven, police said. Bothwell was traveling southbound on Dixwell Avenue and was merging onto Old Dixwell Avenue when the collision occurred, police said.
Hamden Police and Hamden Fire Rescue personnel rendered medical assistance. Wilczynski was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she died shortly thereafter.
