$200 Million Downtown Hartford Project Moves Forward

The city and a developer have entered into an agreement to move forward with a massive downtown project.

HARTFORD, CT — The city and a Stamford Developer have struck an agreement to building a $200-million housing and retail project on city-owned land near Dunkin' Donuts Park, The Hartford Business Journal reported. The deal involving developer Randy Salvatore will keep the development on track to begin construction in the spring.

The plans for the first phase of the development call for 270 apartment units, 11,000 square feet of retail and flex space, and a 330-space parking garage. Mayor Luke Bronin said this will be one of the city's "most significant development projects in decades," according to The Hartford Business Journal.

The project will also likely include a grocery store and up to 1000 apartment units over six years of building.
