The 2017 OnStage Theatre Awards Nominees Announced

Every year, the folks at at OnStage Blog like to recognize truly extraordinary productions and performances on the local stages in the Greater CT and NY region. Not to mention some shout outs to some excellent Equity and High School productions.

This year's nominees were selected by not only our CT & NY critics but also a select group of previous OnStage Theatre Award winners and nominees.

The rules for the nomination process were simple:

• Shows eligible had to have their opening or closing weekend performance between the dates of June 19th, 2016 and June 9th, 2017
• Each category will have a maximum of ten nominees.
• With the exception of specific categories, only non-Equity productions were eligible to be nominated.
• No critic or nominee voter was allowed to nominate a show they were involved with or had an immediate family member involved with.

As always, the public is invited to weigh in on their favorites by either voting for their choice or writing in who they feel should receive their vote.

You can vote in the boxes below. You can also vote as many times as you want. However, you can only vote for one choice. The winner of the public vote will account for a certain percentage added to the votes of our critics.

On Wednesday, June 14th, the top write-in nominee will be added to the votable ballot.

Voting will close on Sunday, June 18th at 6:00 pm and winners will be announced at 8:00 pm.
