Hartford Lottery Player Scores $100K Scratch-Off Prize (shorenewsnetwork.com) — A Hartford resident has claimed a $100,000 prize on a Connecticut Lottery CA$HWORD scratch-off ticket, according to state lottery records. The winning ticket was sold at S S Quick Mart in nearby Windsor, with the claim recorded September 30, though lottery officials have not released the winner's name or purchase date.
   

3. New 'Dracula' adaptation rises from the dead to open Hartford Stage's season (courant.com) — Hartford theatergoers can catch a new, female-centered adaptation of "Dracula" opening Oct. 9 at Hartford Stage on Church Street, running through Nov. 1 with multiple evening and matinee performances. The production emphasizes Mina's perspective, promises jump-worthy special effects and onstage blood, and features a largely female-identifying cast, giving horror fans a fresh, locally accessible take on the classic vampire story.
   

4. Driver dies after CT collision despite police officer spotting crash and bringing help (courant.com) — A serious overnight crash in Bloomfield left one driver dead and another hospitalized after a patrol officer spotted the wreck and quickly called in fire and ambulance crews. Two men had to be extricated from the heavily damaged vehicle; the driver later died at Hartford Hospital, and police are asking anyone with information to contact Bloomfield officers.
