Bands Of Armed Civilians Roaming Hartford Streets: Reports

HARTFORD, CT — A band of legally armed Hartford residents has taken to the streets in one effort to rid their neighborhood of crime.
However, it is unclear whether the city welcomes this new-found organization, according to multiple media reports.
WFSB Channel 3 reports that the group started patrolling city's North End on Saturday, March 9, in response to violent crimes, including murders, in that area.

Citing Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam, WVIT Channel 30 reported that many city leaders are concerned about the prospects of having armed civilians roaming the streets.
Critics, according to both WFSB and WVIT, claim having armed citizens on patrol in Hartford neighborhoods could lead to potentially dangerous situations on the streets.
