Bowling Tournament Benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

From the CT Irish Road Bowlers and the Hartford Ancient Order of Hibernians:

This year the CT Irish Road Bowling Association and the Hartford Hibernians will be holding our 2nd Annual CT Irish Road Bowling Tournament benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We’re back again Irish Road Bowling down the twists and turns of the Riverside Park Walkway at the Pipes in the Valley Festival in Hartford on Saturday, September 24th.

Our goal this year is to donate proceeds from our Irish Road Bowling Tournament to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s mission to discover how to save the lives of children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. “Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live”

Irish Road Bowling is a fun family orientated sport that anyone can play from young to old. Part golf, part bocce, and part bowling…The rules are simple – hurl your 28 oz. Bowl along the riverfront course. Players must throw underhanded. Scoring is similar to golf – the least amount of throws needed to complete the course wins. Teams of two to four will compete against other teams to see who can cross the finish line in the fewest number of throws.

Stop on by this Saturday September 24th a find out what Irish Road Bowling is all about. We Bowl from10 am to1 pm. The starting line is right under the Founders Bridge on the lower Riverwalk area of Mortensen’s Plaza at Riverside Park in Hartford. It’s only $10.
