Andrew VanNorstrand is a musician, singer, and songwriter based in Springfield, Vermont. He has performed on festival stages, concert halls, dance floors, and living rooms all over North America and beyond. With his brother Noah VanNorstrand, Andrew has and recorded with the popular dance band Great Bear and is now often on the road with progressive folk/roots quartet The Faux Paws. From the Rust Belt to the Blue Ridge, cold spring in New England to a summer’s night in Charlottesville, his original songs seek out beauty in the search and struggle for understanding. Andrew blends traditional folk, old-time, country, and Western swing with a deep appreciation of indie-roots-Americana and artists like Jeff Tweedy, Richard Thompson, Gillian Welch, Sufjan Stevens, and Townes Van Zandt.
Rachel Bell is sought after for concerts, contra dances, French BalFolk dances, English country dances, workshops, and festivals. Her playing spans an enormous range of emotion, from nuanced and sensitive to exhilarating and powerful, pushing the boundaries of what is expected from an accordion. Rachel’s work is infused with a contagious enthusiasm for her instrument and a deep respect for the musical traditions she carries. She loves to create authentic connections with audiences everywhere—from packed, energized dance halls to small, intimate house concert settings. She is passionate about sharing with others the delight she finds in this music.
