Car Stolen With 2 Children Inside In Hartford [UPDATE]

HARTFORD, CT — A car was stolen Tuesday morning and initially police believed there were two girls in the vehicle ages 8 and 9. However, it was later discovered that the kids had gotten on a bus when the car was stolen.

Their mother was momentarily in a day care facility and when she returned found the car had been stolen and called 911, according to police.

Police reported shortly after 10 a.m. that the car had been found at 30 Gillett St. and that the children are safe.

The car was stolen near Barbour Street and Capen Street.

A suspect in the car theft has been arrested. According to FOX 61, a patrol officer checked behind the building at 30 Gillett St. and found the car. The suspect was still in the car at the time and rammed a police cruiser twice.

The unidentified suspect was in possession of marijuana and a gun when police found him.
