Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation Offers Katharine Hepburn Film

Join Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 7:30 pm for its annual Movie Night featuring cemetery resident Katharine Hepburn in On Golden Pond. The Oscar-winning film also stars Henry Fonda and Jane Fonda.

Cantankerous Norman and his appeasing wife Ethel spend summers on Golden Pond. Although Norman has a strained relationship with daughter Chelsea, the couple agrees to care for Billy, the son of her new fiancée, while they travel to Europe. A surprising relationship blossoms between the two encouraging Chelsea to attempt to repair her long-strained relationship with Norman before it’s too late.

Filmed in New Hampshire, On Golden Pond was the second highest grossing film of 1981. It was also critically acclaimed, receiving 10 Academy Award nominations. Henry Fonda won his only Best Actor Oscar and Hepburn won her fourth and final Best Actress Oscar. The film also won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Cedar Hill Cemetery is located at 453 Fairfield Avenue in Hartford. Admission to the program is $5.00 and free for Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation members. The movie will be shown on an outdoor screen on the sprawling lawn between the community mausoleums. Bring a blanket or chair to enjoy the show. The rain date is Friday, August 23 at 7:30 pm
