Cedar Hill Cemetery Foundation presents its annual Hallowed History Lantern Tour on Friday, October 26, 2018, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. History comes alive on this lantern-led tour of Hartford's Cedar Hill Cemetery. Character actors share tantalizing true stories of some of our notable and not-so-notable residents. This year guests will meet Virginia Dox who reminisces about her 1891 Grand Canyon trek; Albert Pitkin who recounts his tale of a horrible railroad accident; and Emma Allen who recalls the 1911 heat wave; among others. Cedar Hill Cemetery is located at 453 Fairfield Avenue in Hartford. Tickets are $15.00 per person. To ensure your participation, reservations are required for specific time slots. The event often sells out, so book early by calling Beverly Lucas at 860-956-3311.

We’re excited to invite students in&nbsp;grades 4–7&nbsp;to campus for&nbsp;S.P.A.R.K.—a free, hands-on&nbsp;morning of discovery&nbsp;at Kingswood Oxford on&nbsp;Saturday, May 16.
S.P.A.R.K.&nbsp;stands for&nbsp;Science. Play. Action. Research. Knowledge,&nbsp;and that’s exactly what the morning is all about. Students will dive into interactive labs, ask big questions, and explore how science connects to the world around them.
Throughout the morning, students will rotate through all three engaging sessions:
Snack Science: Cracking the Code of Carbs, Fats &amp; Proteins
Students will test everyday foods to uncover the building blocks of life - carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins.
From Cabbage to Chemistry: A Color-Changing Exploration of pH
Using red cabbage as a natural indicator, students will experiment with acids and bases and watch chemistry come alive in vibrant color.
Air Apparent: The Invisible Force All Around Us
Through hands-on experiments, students will explore the properties of air—and discover just how powerful something invisible can be.
