Hartford, CT, November 11, 2019 – Hartford Stage will host its annual Community Night Performance of A Christmas Carol–A Ghost Story of Christmas on Wednesday, December 4, at 7:30 p.m. The performance will be attended by approximately 495 children and adults from 24 local community organizations.

Hartford Stage has held this free performance for the past 16 years, and it has grown into a favorite Hartford holiday tradition. The event is a joyous celebration – often introducing children and young adults to live theatre for the first time. The audience is invited to meet and mingle with the cast of the play immediately following the performance.
“Artistic Director Melia Bensussen and I are thrilled to continue bringing A Christmas Carol – Dicken’s classic story of compassion, redemption and generosity – to this community. This spirit of generosity is something that motivates and inspires us at Hartford Stage and is exemplified by our Community Night performance, where we invite many organizations doing vital work in and around Hartford to a performance,” said Cynthia Rider, Managing Director. “As we work towards making our theatre accessible to all members of our community, we welcome a multi-generational and diverse audience to this longstanding, gorgeous and heartwarming production.”
