HARTFORD, CT — A tense situation unfolded at the Connecticut state capitol building Tuesday afternoon after a report of an emotionally disturbed person there amid threats of violence.

According to WVIT Channel 30, the building was put on lockdown as capitol police searched for a person who claimed to have weapons and explosives where the state government operates.

WFSB Channel 3 reported the situation involved a person having a crisis, prompting officers to swarm the building.
