This very popular event attracts dog lovers, beer lovers, music lovers and anyone looking to support a great cause, and this year, the event supports two great causes! Dog Star Rescue has adopted over 4,000 rescue dogs since 2014, and the Bark & Brew is its’ biggest fundraiser of the year. Each $45 ticket includes an award-winning barbeque dinner, unlimited beer from Hooker Brewery, live music from Sister Funk, entry into a raffle, a silent auction and the ever-popular puppy kissing booth where adoptable puppies can be cuddled and loved.

All proceeds from this fundraiser help directly support the rescue’s mission of guiding dogs toward better lives. In addition, this year, in partnership with iHeart Radio, St Francis Hospital and Courtney from 95.7, we’ll be raising money and awareness of Thyroid Cancer by offering free mobile screenings, giveaways and more.

“This will be a great afternoon for all and the best part is knowing that you’re having fun while helping us save more rescue dogs and potentially lives impacted by thyroid cancer. The pandemic made fundraising a challenge but we’re back, and we hope people are ready to eat, drink and listen to music. We think this will be the best Bark & Brew ever, and we expect a huge turnout!” said Dan McCabe, Dog Star Rescue founder.

Dog Star Rescue is a licensed non-profit organization that takes in stray and abandoned dogs from a variety of sources including both local and out of state shelters, as well as owner surrender dogs, and places them in loving, forever homes. Dog Star Rescue has adoption events every weekend and adopts dogs of every size, breed and age. As an all-volunteer, foster-based non-profit, they rely on the generosity of partners and supporters to offset their operating costs.
Bark & Brew will be held on September 26 from 12-5 p.m. at 12 Tobey Road in Bloomfield, CT. Tickets are $45 (also available in 2 and 4 packs) and can be purchased online through Facebook, Instagram and at DogStarRescue.org.
